The Oldsmobile Starfire was a personal luxury car produced by the Oldsmobile division of General Motors from 1961 to 1966. In 1964, the second generation of the Starfire was released. It featured a redesigned body style and more powerful V8 engine options.
The 1964 Starfire was available as a two-door hardtop or a convertible. The base engine was a 345 horsepower, 394 cubic inch V8, but a 345 horsepower, 425 cubic inch V8 was also available as an option.
Other features of the 1964 Starfire included power steering and brakes, tilt steering wheel, bucket seats, and a center console. The dashboard featured a full array of gauges, including a tachometer.
Despite its sporty and luxurious features, the Starfire was not a high-volume seller for Oldsmobile. Production numbers for the 1964 model year are estimated to be around 13,000 units. In 1966, the Starfire was discontinued due to low sales numbers.
